Day 1: Amman Queen Alia International Airport - Amman
Welcome to Jordan! Upon arrival at the Jordan International Airport, we'll assist you through visa formalities. Once you have gathered all of your luggage, you will be transferred to your Hotel in Amman .
After check-in, the rest of the day is at leisure .
** If your flight arrives early Amman City Tour will be offered .
Day 2: Amman - Jerash - Ajloun Castle - Amman
Breakfast at the hotel. and start heading north, to the Roman City of Jerash, Jerash was a favorite city of the Roman emperor, Hadrian, and reached its zenith in AD 130, flourishing economically and socially. The city began to decline in the 3rd century, later becoming a Christian city under the rule of the Byzantine empire.
After lunch, you'll stop at Ajloun Castle; winds through fertile green hillsides lined with olive groves, a fine example of medieval Arab/Islamic military architecture. The castle was built between 1184-85 CE by the nephew of Saladin.
By Evening return to Amman for overnight .
Day 3: Amman - Petra - Amman
Today we start early driving south , to the Red Rose City of Petra , One of the Seven Wonders of the World ! In addition to the magnificent remains of the Nabataean city, human settlement and land use for over 10,000 years can be traced in Petra, where great natural, cultural, archaeological and geological features merge.
After wandering the city, by evening return to Amman for overnight .
Day 4: Amman - Baptism Site - Mt. Nebo - Madaba - Amman
After breakfast check out from your hotel to be transferred to the Baptism Site, known as Bethany beyond the Jordan River. Because this site marks the baptism of Jesus by John, and thus the beginning of Jesus’ mission and indeed the beginning of Christianity, it is considered to be one of the three holiest Christian sites in the world.
Continue to Mt. Nebo believed to be the burial site of Prophet Moses. If the weather allows you will have like him a view of the Holy-Land.
Afternoon reaching Madaba city, Madaba is a popular tourist destination, attracting visitors from around the world who come to see its ancient mosaics and explore its rich history and culture. The chief attraction in this city is a wonderfully vivid, sixth century Byzantine mosaic map showing Egypt, Jerusalem and the Holy Land, preserved in St. George Church.
Return to your hotel in Amman & overnight.
** An optional visit to la Storia museum in Madaba can be offered
*** Another good Idea is to join one of the mosaic classes to learn more about the handicraft that the city is famous about.
Day 5: Amman - North Border - Damascus
After Early breakfast, check out and drive to the North border to cross into Syria,
Start a Tour in Damascus, the tour starts on The National Museum: Its visit provides an overview of the civilizations that have succeeded in Syrian soil.
Afterwords head to The Umayyad Mosque, which is the best example of
Arabic Islamic architecture that dates back to the 8th century A.D; The tour will also include a stroll in the old Souks to enjoy the oriental fragrance Located in the heart of the Medina,
Not far from the Great Mosque, in the labyrinth of the souk is the Palace El-Azem. It is considered as the sumptuous model of the Damascene house whose exterior simplicity and sobriety do not suggest anything about a beautiful and rich interior, with many varieties of flowers, fruit trees and water jets.
Afterwords, Saint Ananian Church, it is of particular importance because it is attached to the memory of Saint Paul. Before his conversion to Christianity, he had a vision here that blinded him for several days and gave him an unshakeable faith.
Your evening will be spent at Souk Al-Hamidiye, The most beautiful souk of Damascus.
Finish your day by transferring to your hotel for overnight.
Day 6: Damascus - Maaloula - Crack des Chevaliers -Al-Mishtaya
After breakfast at your hotel, check out and head to the monastery of Maaloula; the monastery contains a portrait of the Virgin believed to have been painted by St. Luke. The little houses of the village cling to the face of an enormous rock; they look suspended in mid-air. The people of Maaloula still speak Aramaic, the language spoken by Jesus Christ. The word Maaloula means “entrance” in Aramaic.
In the afternoon, transfer to Crack des Chevaliers, the most famous fortress of the Middle Ages. The crusaders made it the basic element of their system of strongholds on the coast. It is so vast and so impregnable that it has become the symbol of a whole era of bloody struggles between Muslims and Crusaders
By evening reach Al-Mishtaya, a village in northwestern Syria characterized by its charming landscapes, and beautiful climate.
Check in at your hotel in Al-Mishtaya for overnight.
Day 7: Al-Mishtaya- Palmyra - Damascus
After breakfast, head to ancient Palmyra, the architecture of Palmyra mixes Greco-Roman, Persian and Arabic styles، the Arabic word “Palmyra”, which is associated with dates and palm trees, Syrians call it Tadmor (miracle in Aramaic), Palmyra is the city of all superlatives. An oasis of columns, remains and palm trees that testifies to the splendor of this city that made, one day, tremble Rome …
Transfer back to Damascus for an overnight.
Day 8: Damascus - Border - Queen Alia International Airport
After breakfast, you will check out from your hotel in Damascus, transfer to the border to cross back to Jordan and head to Amman international airport according to your flight details.
